Executive Team


Paul Nell
Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Nell is a seasoned senior executive with over 40 years of experience in international business, defense, foreign affairs, and economic development. Mr. Nell is a retired U.S. Army Special Forces military officer who has served in operations around the world in Eastern Europe, Africa, and Southeast Asia. Since his retirement, he has held senior management positions at MPRI, L-3 Communications, and Engility where he was responsible for managing programs in excess of $1.0 billion USD. At Allies, he serves as CEO of Blue Hackle, Diamondback Tactical, and as CEO of the parent Allies Corporation. Mr. Nell has also served in the Office of the Prosecutor of the UN’s International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. Mr. Nell earned a B.S. in Engineering from Georgia Tech, an M.S. in Systems Management, and an MBA from Harvard University.

Dale McBee
Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. McBee has more than 25 years of experience in security, information technology, infrastructure, facilities, and business systems in international operations. He is a member of the Project Management Institute, is a certified IT professional, and serves on several boards for The Allies Corporation. Prior to his appointment as EVP & COO, Mr. McBee held several senior positions in industry, including Vice President for Administration at Blue Hackle and Chief Information Officer at L-3 Services Group.

Gordon Goetz
Senior Vice President, Corporate Development

Mr. Goetz is Senior Vice President for Corporate Development at The Allies Corporation. He has over 30 years of experience in the intelligence, defense, and international affairs arenas. Since 2016 he has served as the SVP of Business Development for Blue Hackle, a Torch Hill portfolio company, as well as being acting SVP for Sales & Marketing for Diamondback Tactical. Prior to Blue Hackle Mr. Goetz held senior positions with several U.S. multinational firms, including The Washington Times, L-3 Communications and MPRI. Mr. Goetz served both in the United States Marine Corps and the Central Intelligence Agency. He has successfully operated in widely diverse world-wide environments for both the government and private industry. Mr. Goetz hails from Casper, Wyoming. He is a Terrapins Alumni and an Honors Graduate, Cum Lauda, with a BA in Middle East studies. Mr. Goetz is married to Tetyana Goetz and they have two sons.


Board Members


George Lund

Mr. Lund is an experienced chief executive and private equity investor. He began his career as co-founder and CEO of BANKFIRST which he led from $20M to $1 Billion in assets before successfully selling the institution to Merrill Lynch. He is a member of the Threat Finance Task Force and the Vice Chairman of the Scowcroft Center for International Security at the Atlantic Council. His philanthropic activities include serving on the boards of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the South Dakota Economic Development Authority, Lapham’s Quarterly, the leadership Council of the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, and the Special Operations Fund.

Sir Jeremy Mackenzie

An Allies Corporation board member and former Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe. Commissioned into the Queens Own Highlanders in 1961, he held commands in many of the most prestigious posts in the British Military including commanding the 1st British Corps, forming and commanding the Allied Command Europe Rapid Reaction Corps, and culminating with his appointment as Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe where he served three different SACEUR combatant commanders. He is currently the chief military advisor to the Beretta Holding Group and principal military advisor to Benteler Defense.

Stephen R. Kappes

Mr. Kappes retired from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) as the Deputy Director in May 2010 after 30 years of service. From 2006 to 2010 he was directly involved in the leadership and management of all elements of the Agency under two different Directors and two Presidential administrations. From 2005 to 2006 he was the Chief Operating Officer of ArmorGroup International and a member of the Board of Directors of ArmorGroup International plc. From 2002 to 2004 Mr. Kappes served as the Associate Deputy Director of Operations and then the Deputy Director of Operations for the CIA. Mr. Kappes also served during his career as the Associate Deputy Director for Counter Intelligence. Mr. Kappes was a Captain in the United States Marine Corps before joining the CIA. Currently, he is Chairman of the Board of Diamondback Tactical and a member of the Board of Directors of Zephyr Photonics Inc.
